Selby Golf Club offers lady golfers a very friendly welcome along with a full and competitive golfing calendar to suit all ages and handicaps.
One of Yorkshire’s hidden gems, this course is a tremendous challenge for all.
A Club with good facilities, catering and social events running throughout the year to keep everyone busy!
Our active Lady Members travel all over Yorkshire and beyond, playing in Open Days, Yorkshire interclub Team matches and our ‘sought after’ friendlies and exchange days.
Ladies play both weekend and weekday competitions as well as social golf, providing plenty of opportunity for all members to join in.

The Seniors’ Section is open to all Selby GC male members who are over 55 years of age. It currently has just over 100 members. There is an annual subscription of £10 which is payable in January for the calendar year.
The section is run by a committee comprising Seniors’ Captain, Seniors’ Vice Captain, Seniors’ Immediate Past Captain, Secretary / Treasurer plus a small number of other elected members.
The aim of the section is to provide a friendly and supportive environment to new and existing members through a wide range of golfing and social activities which include:

Friendly golf for 16 and higher handicappers, with interesting in-house competitions and friendly matches against Rabbits Sections of other local clubs. There is an Open Day and the Rabbits Captain arranges an Away Day and an Exchange Day.
Rabbits In-House competitions run both Summer and Winter, with individual competitions and Summer and Winter pairs events.
Rabbits matches usually take place on mid-week afternoons, normally starting between 13.00 and 15.00. The usual team number is 12 with variations. The delight of matches for many Rabbits member is the meeting up of old opponents, swapping tales over a meal, so forging long term friendships.
Rabbits Captain’s Day
This is a Saturday qualifying competition with a cabaret evening to follow. Winners need to attend the cabaret evening or forfeit their prizes.
Rabbits Open Day
This is a chance to invite your pals from other Clubs. Handicaps from 12 – 28 are very welcome. There are valuable prizes on offer.

All Rabbits competitions are from yellow tees with the exception of the Vickers Trophy.

Fixtures are played in a very enjoyable competitive 4bbb format.
5. Tigers Honours Board:
Section members’ competitions include singles match play, doubles match play, Captains Trophy, Engelhart Putter Centenary best gross, Clegg cup, Tigers open best nett & gross all of which have Tigers honours board recognition.
6. Away Day Open Competitions:
Throughout the year the Tigers organise away days to Open Competitions usually in team formats these will be posted on SGC events pages and Tigers notice board.
Selby Golf club provides an environment where junior golfers can be themselves and develop their golfing ability at their own pace.
A newly revamped Junior Section at Selby Golf Club with an extensive programme of competitions which run throughout the season particularly in school holidays.
Our coaching team “Under Par Golf Academy” provide a junior passport system, in which all new Junior members will partake. This includes an introductory lesson an overview of membership (Handicap, scoring, submitting cards etc), and an overview of golf etiquette in general.
There are five Junior competition throughout the year including the Junior Club Championship which all juniors with an official handicap may enter.
Home and away fixtures for our newly formed Junior team will be arranged against other clubs within the Leeds and District Union of Golf Clubs.
A new Junior Conveyor Keith Houliston has recently taken over responsibility for the Junior section and all enquiries will be forwarded onto him.
